How Paid Time Off Works
Zebra recognizes that time away from work is an essential part of your overall wellbeing. That’s why the company provides eligible, nonexempt employees with paid time off in the form of paid time off (PTO) days, company holidays and community service days. The PTO program gives you flexibility to create a healthy work/life balance. You may use your PTO for any days you are away from work (vacation or sick days).
Earning PTO
You will accrue paid time off every pay period based on your years of service with the company and hours worked per pay period.

Using Your PTO
When you need planned time away from work for any reason—whether you’re taking a vacation or juggling family obligations—you can use the time off you’ve earned. Just be sure to get approval from your manager in advance.
Also, it’s important for you to accurately record and track your time off in the Kronos time management system throughout the year.
PTO Carry-Over Limit
Remember, a 56-hour (or seven day) PTO carry-over limit applies to all employees. That means any PTO time accrued and unused in excess of 56 hours by December 31 of each year will be forfeited. Be sure to consider this as you plan to use your PTO. Refer to the PTO policy for information on those areas of the U.S. that have an exception to the 56-hour carry-over limit.
Holidays
In the U.S., Zebra provides nine paid holidays each calendar year to all regular full-time employees who are scheduled to work 20 hours or more per week. These paid holidays include the following:
- New Year’s Day (Monday, January 1)
- Martin Luther King Jr. Day (Monday, January 15)
- Memorial Day (Monday, May 27)
- Independence Day (Thursday, July 4)
- Labor Day (Monday, September 2)
- Thanksgiving Day (Thursday, November 28)
- Day After Thanksgiving (Friday, November 29)
- Christmas Eve Day (Tuesday, December 24)
- Christmas Day (Wednesday, December 25)
You will also receive two floating holidays that you can use at your discretion during the year (with manager approval). Part-time employees receive one floating holiday.
