Annual Enrollment
Take action so you don’t lose your medical coverage in 2027
This year is different. You must actively enroll in a medical plan during Annual Enrollment to have medical coverage next year. 2026 medical elections will not roll over to 2027.
You also must take action if you want to:
- Contribute to a Health Savings Account (HSA)
- Contribute to a Flexible Spending Account (FSA)
- Add or drop coverage for family members
- Make any benefit changes
Your 2027 Benefits
Each year, the Zebra benefits team looks for opportunities to get more value from our benefits. Review what’s new to ensure your benefits continue to meet your needs.
New Spousal Surcharge
To help focus our benefit dollars where they have the greatest impact, we will be implementing an extra fee, or spousal surcharge, to cover spouses who have qualified medical coverage available through their own employer in 2027.
When you enroll in your medical plan, if you select your spouse to be covered, you will be asked to confirm if your spouse has coverage available through another employer or not. If your spouse/partner has access to active group medical plan coverage available through their employer, the surcharge will be automatically added to your paycheck contributions for medical premiums.
The spousal surcharge is $1,200 per year, spread evenly across each paycheck.
Higher Deductibles and Out-of-Pocket Maximums for HSA Medical Plans
The amount you pay out-of-pocket when you need medical care before the plan starts to share costs will increase for two of our medical plans in 2027 due to IRS requirements. The exact amount depends on your plan, coverage level, and whether your provider is in-network.

Tax-Advantaged Accounts
Each year, the IRS sets contribution limits for Health Savings Accounts (HSAs) and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs). You can use the money in these accounts to pay for eligible expenses, including out-of-pocket medical expenses before you hit the deductible and out-of-pocket maximum.
The 2027 limits are:
- Health Savings Account (HSA)*: $4,500 (employee-only coverage) / $9,000 (family) / Age 55+ may contribute an additional $1,000
- Healthcare Flexible Spending Accounts (GPFSA and LPFSA): $3,400
- Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account (DCFSA): $3,750 (individual) / $7,500 (household)
*Remember, the HSA limit includes contributions from both you and the Company. If you enroll in the Advantage HSA medical plan, Zebra will contribute:
- Employee-only coverage: Zebra contributes $500; you may contribute up to $4,000
- Family coverage: Zebra contributes $1,000; you may contribute up to $8,000
