Zebra provides short-term and long-term disability protection at no cost to you.

Short-Term Disability

Zebra provides a Short-Term Disability insurance benefit at no cost to all eligible regular Zebra employees working in the U.S. Short-Term Disability provides income protection if you are unable to work due to a non-work-related illness or injury.

The first five consecutive business days of a disability is considered a waiting period. You may use PTO and any remaining floating holidays for this period.

Short-Term Disability is available for a maximum of 26 weeks per disability. Salary continuation applies week two through week six and equals 100% of base pay. Salary continuation for weeks seven through 26 is 60% of your base pay. When Short-Term Disability payments are at the 60% level, you can use accrued vacation time to increase pay to 100%.

Benefits end when any of the following conditions apply:

  • You are determined to be medically able to return to work
  • You are no longer under the care of a physician
  • You have received the maximum benefits provided
  • You are no longer eligible

Long-Term Disability

Zebra provides Long-Term Disability insurance at no cost to you. If you are disabled and unable to work, you may be eligible for Long-Term Disability benefits after 180 days of continuous and total disability. The monthly benefit is 60% of salary up to $10,000 per month for the duration of your disability.

Because this coverage is free, you will receive it automatically. You will not need to enroll for Long-Term Disability coverage and no evidence of insurability (EOI) is required.
